Erin Phifer graduated from Trinity University in 1998 Cum Laude with a B.A. in Psychology. In 2001, Erin graduated from Southern Methodist University with a M.A. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. She is currently completing her doctorate in General Psychology. Erin has 9 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with learning disabilities and developmental disorders. As a clinician and professional trainer for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, Erin provided learning therapy to individuals ages 5 to adult and trained hundreds of professionals across the United States within the Lindamood-Bell programs. She has received supervision and training within both non-profit agency and private practice settings offering marital, individual, and play therapies to a diverse population.

She published her book, Boosting the Mind's Eye: Visualizing for Social and Emotional Intelligence in March, 2008 and was a presenter at the International Emotional Intelligence Conference in Chicago in July 2008. Erin currently works in a private practice providing learning therapy; individual therapy; family therapy; small group social skills intervention for individuals on the autistic spectrum; and parental consultation and education for families with children presenting learning disabilities, childhood developmental disorders, or social skills deficits.

Erin Phifer, M.A., LPC's specialty encompasses therapeutic intervention with individuals presenting learning disorders. Her treatment abilities encompass learning therapy, psychotherapy addressing behavioral, social, and emotional issues, and social skills group interventions.

Her book, Boosting the Mind's Eye: Visualizing for Social &Emotional Intelligence, describes a program building mental imagery improving upon social and emotional intelligence for individuals with various social deficits. This book and program is geared towards individuals with: Asperger's, Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorders, Language Delay, PDD, ADHD, Hyperlexia, and comprehension difficulties.

Educational Pursuits:

Erin Phifer, M.A., LPC has completed coursework for a doctorate in General Psychology from CapellaUniversity and begins comprehensive final exams in October 2008. She retains a high level of commitment to the advancement of her knowledge within the fields of counseling and psychology, thus offering innovative treatment to her clients.

In 2008, she attended and/or presented at conferences involving Emotional Intelligence, Childhood Developmental Disorders, Autism, and Asperger's. She is a current member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), American Psychological Association (APA), US Autism and Asperger's Association (USAAA), & the American Educational Research Association (AERA).
